Tutor in Persian Studies and Azerbaijani
Farniyaz Zaker is an artist and tutor of Persian Studies and Azerbaijani at Oxford University’s Oriental Institute. Most of her research and art practice deals with the history and theory of architecture and textiles with regard to bodily, societal and spatial practices in Iran. Zaker has published articles on these subjects, including a forthcoming paper on how ideas about architecture and clothing converged in 20th-century Iranian and European notions of modernity. Her works have been shown internationally, most recently at a fringe exhibition during the 2019 Venice Biennale and at a 2020 solo show at O Gallery in Tehran.
